Registration for all Star programs will open August 18 at 8am. Preschool CanSkate and CanSkate sessions running from October - December opens on August 30 at 8am.
About Sylvan Lake Figure Skating Club
The Sylvan Lake Figure Skating Club is located 10 minutes west of Red Deer in the town of Sylvan Lake.
We are a not-for-profit Skate Canada sanctioned club with a parent executive dedicated to enhancing and promoting skating in our community. We offer a variety of programs from learn to skate, recreational skating, adult skating and figure skating. Our club's goal is to enable everyone to participate in skating throughout their lifetime for fun, fitness and/or achievement.
Thanks to our dedicated team of volunteers, who work alongside our professional skating coaches, our club has been successful for over 50 years

Registration for Fall Camp is now open for our STAR programs. This program runs from Sept 1 - Sept 24 and is open to our PreStar, JrStar and StarSkate skaters. Please note there is no group programing for this, and private lessons need to be booked with the coaches.
Regular season registration is open for STAR programs Aug 18 at 8am and PreSchool CanSkate and CanSkate on Aug 30 at 8am.
Our regular season is starting the week of Monday October 5th for all of programs

2026-2027 Regular Season Ice Schedule
**Please note there is NEW times for the Thursday PreSchool CanSkate program for the 2026-2027 season**
We are excited to offer dryland off-ice training for our Jr Star and StarSkate programs for the 2026-2027 season! The day of the week and time offered will be announced soon. Price for participating will be $10 per session (45-minute coach led) and will be billed at the end of each month for the sessions your skater participates in. Check back soon for more information

PreCan & CanSkate
PreCan is a learn to skate program for preschool aged children. CanSkate is Skate Canada's nationally recognized flagship program. It is a dynamic learn-to-skate program that focuses on fun, participation and basic skill development.

PreSTARSkate
PreStar Is an introduction program that teaches the skills to move past CanSkate and into the Jr Star and STARSkate programs. For skaters working on CanSkate badges 4-6 and who are wanting to move on from the basic learn to skate programs

Jr STARSkate
A program for skaters who wish to continue with figure skating but are not ready for STARSkate. It is a group run program, but skaters have the option to purchase extra ice and lessons from a coach to start working towards the Skate Canada tests
STARSkate
Offers skaters fundamental development in figure skating skills in ice dance, skills, free skate and artistic skating. Skaters have the opportunity to take Skate Canada Assessments through a nationally standardized assessment system
