2025/2026 Season Coaches

The following coaches are under contract with the SLFSC for the 2025/2026 skating season to teach figure skating.  

All private lessons are booked directly between coaches and parents and are an additional charge to the registration fees and paid directly to the coaches

 

 

Kami Harney - National Coach in Training

2026-2027 programs - To be announced   

Kami has been a professional coach for 25 years, primarily in the Northwest Territories but began coaching at the Grande Prairie Skating Club.  She is a national coach in training and is a qualified Star 1 - Gold skills assessor.  Kami has been fortunate to work with skaters of all ages from Pre-CanSkate to STARSkate through to gold level dance, skills, artistic and Star 6 Freeskate; including a skater selected for the 2022 and 2023 Arctic Winter Games. Her personal skating accomplishments include Gold Skills, Gold Dance, Gold Interpretive, Gold Artistic and she has competed Nationally as an adult skater at various competitions since 2012. Formal education includes a Bachelor of Education (Kinesiology Major) and Master of Education.

Karlee MacMillan - Provincial Coach in Training

I am a Provincial Coach in Training and have experience working with skaters from their first steps on the ice all the way to the StarSkate level. Skating has always played a big role in my life, I started in CanSkate and continued through the Star program as I completed as a skater and completed all of my gold tests, earning my quadruple gold test status. The Sylvan Lake Figure Skating Club has been my home club from the very beginning of my journey on the ice, and I am so happy to coach in my home club and watch as our skaters continue to learn and grow.

Leah MacMillan - Regional Trained Coach

2026-2027 programs - To be announced  

After skating in the sylvan lake figure skating club her whole life and volunteering as a program assistant for many years, Leah decided to become a regionally trained coach, and is currently working towards full certification. She is also a STAR 1-5 assessor. Leah's is furthering her education by pursuing a Bachelor of Business degree. She is dedicated to providing a supportive environment for skaters of all levels to achieve their goals.
